Mobilizing Transformative Convergence (Part 2)

We (David & Kandy) have deepened in our commitment throughout this year to Mobilize Transformative Convergence by equipping today's ministers to live and minister as missionaries in their communities. It’s what we do as we work to influence other influencers.

The spiritual battles we enter into are intense and difficult. We face various powers and principalities (Eph. 6) as we increasingly enter further and further into the strongman’s territory. The enemy doesn’t want us awakening God’s family to His call to follow Jesus and live as missionaries in the place they call home. This is what happens with every minister or leader or influencer we work with.

“Our efforts, to awaken a missionary heart in followers in the way of Jesus, creates warfare for all of us willing to pick up the mantle and extend His reach by sharing the Good News.”

We hope Part 1 of Mobilizing Transformative Convergence helped you grasp a little bit better what we do. Our efforts in mobilizing a missionary movement empowering the local church to improve in seeking and saving those who have lost their way are bearing fruit.

In this blog we want to update you on one really important change that has taken place in our lives.

THE LOCATION

We moved!

That’s what changed.

What hasn’t changed is our work with U.S. Missionswe are still U.S. Missionaries with USM Church Mobilization.

We continue to disciple and coach ministers/leaders in a missionary approach to life and ministry.

Our new home is really in our old home...not the actual house. It wasn’t available when we were busy searching for a place to live! What we mean is that we moved back to Boardman, Ohio where we started this whole journey in the first place.

The reason is fairly simple. After months of prayer and talking it through we determined the Holy Spirit was leading us back to our home base. It started out as something we both felt God was speaking to us about and neither of us wanted to bring it up. It seemed crazy at the time to even think about it. Living in Columbus afforded us the opportunity to frequently enjoy at least three of our eight grandchildren. Like most grandparents, we struggled with the idea of giving up this important job of Grandpa & Grandma in their everyday lives.

Then, out of nowhere, our daughter came over and announced their family was leaving Columbus and heading back home to the Youngstown area, specifically Columbiana.

At first our hearts sunk at the thought of not being near them. Then the Holy Spirit began to remind us of what He had been talking to us about over the last 12 to 18 months. The end result was we began looking for a new home in the greater Youngstown-Warren area in December 2022.

It took a number of trips back and forth as we looked at around 38 homes and attempted to buy 5 different houses. There were points when we wondered if this was really going to work out or not. In those low moments the Holy Spirit would send an encouraging word to our hearts and let us know it was all in His time.

Today we believe the hold up was getting connected with the right house which was to become both our home and a sending center for the ministry we do. Our hearts are at peace as this house is slowly transforming into our home.

After a whole bunch of confusion and some moments where we thought this one was going to go down just like the others before it, the papers were signed and the move took place.

We left Columbus at the end of April and started new lives in a familiar place where we raised our family … Boardman, Ohio - “A Nice Place to Call Home.”
