David & Kandy Bennett Transition Update #6
Where We Are
We have made progress.
Things are always changing.
At any given moment our future status is generally unknown.
It’s been steady like the beating of your heart as it speeds up and slows down with the activity of the day. Through this we have experienced our fair share of ups and downs, unexpected twists and turns, and all of this salted with moments that, at times, have kept us guessing … the effects of transition.
It’s the nature of change as you move from what you have practiced and known into things that are new and not so familiar. These past few months of transition have stretched us — some days the challenges were greater than other days. Dealing with it was difficult. It’s not targeted or personal; it’s just the way transition works.
The reality is that even positive changes can bring stress as you learn new ways of doing familiar tasks. The work can stay basically the same, and you think it isn’t going to be as big a shift until reality hits. This adjustment was a change for our Circle of Partners as you made a series of decisions, for us, it was a much bigger step of faith. Through it all we have done our best to navigate the adjustments by following the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Phase 1 is behind us now, and we’re standing on firmer ground than we had in the past several months. We (David & Kandy) have a clearer view of where we are and what’s next. At least we have a better understanding of the current reality and a few things we need to work on in order to continue in our forward movement.
Here’s the heartbeat of it: 63% of our donor family has stayed right by our side through this shift. That’s not just a number—it’s a warm embrace from each partner and is far stronger than what most others experience in similar transitions. At least, this is what leaders surrounding us say.
Deep Appreciation
First, we lift our grateful hearts to God. His faithfulness has carried us through every step of these 12 years, and He’s still our anchor! He has been with us throughout the past 6 months as we follow this path of change.
Next, to our Circle of Partners—what a blessing you have been to us. You’ve walked through the bumps with notes of encouragement and prayers of support. Please keep them coming; they are so helpful at just the right moment. Your love and commitment wrap around us like a blanket of strength. With all of our hearts, we thank you!
Looking Ahead
We’d love to linger in this glow, but there’s more to the story. While we celebrate those who’ve stayed, we know 37% of our partners had to step back. It’s not been easy saying goodbye. Change is here and we must move on.
We’re so grateful for every moment these individuals poured into this mission—it’s part of our foundation. Thank you for believing in us and standing with us for so long.
Looking ahead, we’re faced with a financial gap to fill, and we’re rolling up our sleeves to find new ways to keep Mission Converge thriving. And it is thriving as we continue to mobilize a missionary movement.
Phase 2 is about leaning in with fresh energy—exploring new financial streams to sustain the work we’re called to do and create a greater presence locally through Mission 330. Our hearts are still set on fueling a missionary movement, and we are alive as ever to the Holy Spirit’s call in our lives.
We wanted to let you know where things seem to have landed, and we are still here doing the work the Holy Spirit has directed us to accomplish. Hopefully, this short update will give you enough encouragement for the moment. Keep praying.
Here is how you can become a partner with the Bennett’s as they continue to mobilize a missionary movement.
