New Year … New Challenges … New Changes

We all face change every day of our lives, literally nothing ever stays the same.

The world we live in has increased the speed with which such changes come at us, and we are left to adjust.

Nobody asks; it just happens and we have to adjust on the fly.

It is life.

The truth is…

Most of the time the changes are good for us and can be very helpful … We don’t baulk too much when our favorite company comes out with a new something-or-other to play with. We enjoy learning and adapting as our devices bring us more pleasure.

Some of the time the changes are good for us but make our lives more difficult. We know in the long term this is probably going to be a good thing, but right now it is frustrating us and hard to adjust.

Once in a while the changes are not good for us, and it doesn’t really matter if it makes life easier or harder. We may not even realize the subsequent series of changes set in motion because we made this one adjustment.

Like it or not, 2023 is here and with it comes all the new “news” you expect when the calendar moves from December 31st to January 1st.

It is a New Year which most likely is unimpressed by whatever did or didn’t take place last year. It’s here bearing down and moving faster than any of us are ready for.

We who are followers in the way of Jesus have an incredible opportunity in front us right now to live into the call of God as we advance the kingdom of God in real time.

The choice is in front of us.

We can continue in the same nonsensical behaviors which have born no fruit in our lives that Jesus is looking for.

Or  … We can literally bring transformation to the hurting isolated people around us.

It is called disciple making: the act of helping to guide people through the discovery of Jesus Christ as Savior, Lord, and friend.

In fulfilling the Great Commission of making disciples, we simply strive to aid those we are discipling through the discovery process. We accomplish this by asking them good questions and then, through friendship with them, be available to answer any questions they may have of us. It takes time.

Hey … we can assist in changing the course of peoples lives as we join the Holy Spirit in the work He is already doing around us.

We have never said this is going to be easy … only that we see disciple making as the approach through which fruitfulness in our efforts might be achieved. It is the missionary approach which is missing in the hearts of so many Christians today.

Let’s live into the New Year with all of its New Challenges and the New Changes which come about as a result. It’s time to join the cause and mobilize a missionary movement across this nation!
